HOW TO THROW THE ULTIMATE PUPPY PAW-TY
Wow, I cannot believe the time has come to write this post. This Sunday, baby Rae is going to be one year old! I feel like just yesterday Josh and I were picking up our nugget and bringing her home. He flew to Nashville for the weekend and we picked up Rae in Knoxville. Josh stayed for a few days to get her settled in, and then he had to make his way back to California.
This past year has been one of the hardest years with bringing home a puppy, but also one of the most rewarding. It's a good thing puppies are cute, because the first few months of raising a dog is HARD. Especially when you're doing it all by yourself. With that being said, it is also one of the most rewarding things. Rae has truly brought so much joy into my life, and I don't know how I would have gotten through this past year without her. She truly is my "Rae"of sunshine, since I'm living away from Josh and my family.
To celebrate our girl turning one, I threw her a little puppy paw-ty this past weekend! I love any good reason to celebrate and pop some champagne. Here's how to throw the ultimate puppy party for your cute little doggo too! (Quarantine style of course).
1. MAKE A PUP CAKE
Rae has a sensitive tummy, so I found this recipe for the perfect pumpkin and peanut butter puppy cake! She LOVED it and it didn't give her an upset stomach either. Of course Rae can't eat cake alone, so I had to make cupcakes for the humans too. I found this easy Simple Mills boxed recipe that is gluten free and equally delicious.
2. HANG THE DECOR
I'm all about gold, light + airy vibes! I found some old table cloths in the house that I used as a backdrop and placed on the table. Then I added a couple decorations I found on Amazon to spruce up the space. Lastly, I topped it off with some fresh flowers!
Fun Birthday Decor:
+ Cake Stand (Different from the one we have, but this Magnolia Homes cake stand is oh so cute. Our cake stand is from years ago at Sam's Club!)
3. WRAP THE TOYS
What's a party without presents? Presents are a must, and there are tons of fun and punny toys out there on the market for your pup. TJMaxx is a great place to look for cheap toys; however, I found a ton on Amazon as well. Wrap the gifts with some cute wrapping paper!

4. POP THE PUPPY CHAMPAGNE
I love any excuse to pop the bubbly! Rae needed her champagne just as much as I needed mine. So I found this cute puppy champagne toy for her to play with as I sipped on my bottle.
5. STYLE YOUR PUP IN A BIRTHDAY 'DANA
My favorite dog bandana store is Palms + Paws Company, paws down! Rae has been a Spring/Summer model for their store this year and we have absolutely loved every second of it. Palms + Paws is such a genuine small business: we've loved watching their growth over the past year since they've started! They have THE best quality bandanas, and their fabrics are just TOO cute. With that said, I couldn't go without getting their "it's my birthday" bandana for Rae. Use code: RAE15 for a discount at checkout!
Okay, but how cute is Rae?! The key to her to cooperating for these pictures was lots of treats. LOL. Also, she's had a year to put up with me taking pictures of her every move so she's a professional by now. Anyone else as obsessed with their fur babe as me? Let me know how you celebrate your doggos!
